Camp Simcha’s Communities of Support provides peer groups and information evenings centred around specific conditions: Diabetes, Crohn’s and Colitis and Epilepsy (where children are not cognitively affected).
For many years, Camp Simcha has been providing direct support to families who have a child newly diagnosed with these conditions, offering practical and therapeutic help until a family stabilises around their child’s diagnosis. While their need for crisis support will hopefully only be short-term, the isolation that comes when your child has a serious medical condition never goes away – this is where our Communities of Support come in.
There is an opportunity to join condition-specific Whatsapp groups, where parents can tap into each others’ expertise and support, as well as relaxed opportunities to meet – informal evenings, picnics, walks.
Our Communities of Support Speaker Series provides opportunities to attend information evenings with expert speakers.
